In order to promote the exchange among various legal institutions of B&R countries, and to implement the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration under the B&R Initiative, Grandall Law Firm (Grandall), together with Research and Development International (RDI) and Chengdu Lawyers Association, and supported by Sichuan Justice Department, Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Justice, Administrative Management Committee of Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, and People’s Government of Chengdu Shuangliu District, held the Belt and Road Legal Services International Cooperation (Chengdu) Forum in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on 29 July 2017 themed on ‘Joint Development and Sharing – New Opportunity and Approach to the B&R Legal Services Cooperation’. In the course of the forum, as initiated by Grandall, RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP, Charltons Law, Maddocks, Magnusson and Chengdu Lawyers Association, 34 law firms from Mainland China, Singapore, Sweden, Australia, Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, Israel, Kazakhstan, Poland, Bangladesh, South Africa, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Myanmar, Indonesia, Slovenia, Cambodia, Hong Kong and Macao, etc., had jointly signed for the establishment of the Belt and Road Legal Services Cooperation Platform (BRLSCP) and its Articles of Association, which facilitated the integrated development in the B&R legal services and promoted the legal system construction under the B&R Initiative.
Based upon the principles of independence, equality, and mutual-respect, the BRLSCP aims to enhance the cooperation among the members and residents in the member countries, and provide them with professional legal service.
We believe that the BRLSCP will make greater contribution to the implementation of the B&R Initiative based upon the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration and adhering to the provisions specified under the Articles of Association.
